At the Clothes Tree we’re always trying to come up with some fun things for you and your child to do with us. Other than sales, there hasn’t really been much lately in the way of activities. But this month we’ve got some exciting things coming up.
Coloring Page
Starting this month, we’re celebrating Spring! In honor of putting out some of our Spring inventory, we’ve got a fun coloring book page for your kids to color. Click here to download the coloring book page. Print it out and have your child color it. On your next visit, bring it in and we’ll hang it on the walls of the store. This will help brighten up the place for the new season.
Repainting the Mural
You may have noticed the big mural of the clothes tree on the wall to the left as you walk into the store. You may also have noticed in the past week that it has disappeared. That’s because a local artist, Carrie Kingsbury, will be coming in to repaint it for us. She will be painting during store hours on Friday, March 26. Stop in to watch her work, and take a look around at some of the Spring inventory of clothing, games, and outdoor toys (including bikes!) while you’re here. Be sure to check out her website to view some of her beautiful work. Thanks, Carrie!
Closed for Easter
Just a quick reminder to those who are not subscribed to our email newsletter: We will be closed Sunday, April 4 for Easter.

First, we want to send out our thoughts and prayers to those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. To those who experienced the disaster first-hand, we hope you have not lost too much and any injuries heal quickly. To those who have friends or family in Haiti, we offer our condolences and hope they are alright.
In light of this disaster that has occurred, we here at the Clothes Tree are offering our support. We will be donating some of our inventory at the collection center at Pace Institute in downtown Reading. We will provide clothing and shoes to the children affected by the quake.
There will also be a monetary donation box in the store near the registers. If you are able, we would appreciate any monetary donations to the relief, and these donations will be handed over to a reputable agency such as the Red Cross, UNICEF, or Mercy Corps.
How else can I help?
There are a few ways to help out the disaster relief effort. As stated above, we will have a monetary donation box by the registers to be donated to a reputable organization. Google also has a few links for easy monetary donations by clicking here.
Another quick and easy way to donate is directly through your cell phone. If you text “HAITI” to 90999, a $10 donation will be made to the Red Cross, and the charges will show up on your next phone bill. The US State Department has confirmed this as true, which you can find on this page.

For those unaware, we have recently made a few minor changes. If we can have a few minutes of your time we can explain what’s been going on around the store lately.
Switching in-store sales system
One of the biggest changes that we’re pretty excited for is a new POS (Point-Of-Sale) system for the store. We are now using a very powerful system that should make things much quicker and easier to purchase items. Now everything is in one computer system, so no more punching prices into a separate cash register. Everything is linked together, including a fancy receipt printer!
Now you will receive receipts with noted price breakdown and item descriptions. This system not only makes it very easy on us, but now our customers can actually know how much a specific item cost them.
Updating our mailing list
Another big update is our mailing list. To keep things relevant (and not marked as spam), we’re asking that everyone currently on the mailing list confirm their subscription. This is just to make sure that those who are on the list are still interested. Make sure to add info@clothestree.net to your contact list to ensure our emails get through without a problem (it should be fine, but just in case).
In order to confirm your subscription, you should have received an email from info@clothestree.net asking to confirm your subscription. Inside this email is a confirmation link that you MUST click in order to confirm.
If you can’t find this email that we sent (did you check your spam folder?), simply send a blank email to clothestree@aweber.com. This will re-send the confirmation email and you can click the link inside.
Our online presence
We’re expanding our online presence. There are now a couple more ways to get a hold of us if you need to. As always, you can just contact us in various ways. Also, we have a Facebook page where we post some news and reminders of sales.
And now there are two new ways to get in touch. We’ve begun taking a few photos around the store and uploading them to our Flickr account. That can be found by clicking here or you can view a slideshow on the About Us page. Just click the photo of the storefront. We’ve also got a Twitter account here if you need to ask a quick question, give some feedback, etc.
Any feedback for us?
That should just about cover some of the things that have been going on around here. Is there anything you find to be a positive change, a negative change? Please let us know as we’d love to help you out any way we can.
